So who has used this??

Looking for description of horse, what you do and how you found it to work :)

Also who uses it for their oldies and how were they on it?

Also what do the BR gurus think of this being added to feeding and how would they think it would affect the hooves?

Heard its good stuff but expensive and I dont want to waste money buying it then for it then not to do any good.

And ive ordered tumeric to add to this but been recommended the AlphaBute as a good product.

All info or experiences with this or other product more than welcome. Im NOT into long term BUTE use for my horses so please dont suggest this as its not an option, horse is semi retired just hacking and is paddock sound at the min just short in trot but active in every other way including galloping about the fields :D
 
I use it on my 12 year old wbxtb who had a kissing spine op 4 years ago along with naf superflex. He seems a lot better on it (he gets stiff over his back). It doesn't contain devil's claw either. I like it, but am looking for a cheaper alternative that doesn't contain devil's claw either.
 
im using it on a 9hh borrowed field companion who suffers from bouts of unsoundness due to lami, he is only on his third day at a low dose but still seemed a bit footsore on the harder area in front of the stable, using it alongside Laminaze and was hoping the combination would help to get him sound again, havent seen any amazing results so far except he seems to have an increased appetite, I am feeding it in a little fast fibre
 
I've used it, but TBH didn't really rate it.

Although I've been feeding pernamax for about 3 weeks now, along with MSM and can see a definite improvement.
 
I've used it, and think it worked well. Jackson gets stiff sometimes because of his back and stifle issues, and the Alphabute seems to help loosen him out. Three or four days of it and he's back to normal.

I feed turmeric on a preventative basis, because I know his stifle will be prone to arthritis as he gets older and I want to fend it off as long as possible :)

Ooh sorry missed the last part... trial and error and (sssshhhh don't tell anyone but I tasted it) suggests that the active ingredient is in a base of what looks and tastes like icing sugar... I suspect not ideal for barefoot, but as I only feed occasionally, I didn't worry too much. There is a different version (http://www.pegasushealth.com/product/boswellia-serrata) that might be better, I haven't tried it.

Oooh BrB!! Looks interesting! I'm looking for summat that works but won't break the bank as on a very tight budget! This I could stretch to as a needs basis supp but having tried superflex and various other thing that were expensive and had various different effects I'm not averse to spending it if its required :)
 
No worries - you can get it cheaper of ebay :-)

Since my 31yo has been on it, I've been able to cut her bute down to 1 every 3 days.

I do use magnetic boots too overnight.

Hmm it does taste 'sweet', it is a very fine powder and sometimes you do get a sweet taste from it. Does anyone know if Global Herbs do an ingredient list? Last I heard they didn't, which is a bit bad of them, and why I would like an alternative.
 
You know I have a set of magnetic boots somewhere.... Thing is though he lives out and they would get destroyed pretty quickly. I got given them last year for my mare when on box rest for her tendon and when I went to hand them back I got told to keep them....

Might dig them out and when he starts to come in at night ill pop them on :)
