Following the death of my beloved dog, I am considering getting another for the sake of my remaining terrier, who seems at least as heartbroken as I am. My dog groomer has suggested I perhaps consider an ex-breeding bitch and I have therefore scrolled through the dogs on the Many Tears website. There seems to be a lot of Bichons. Does anyone know much about them as a breed. What are the drawbacks to them - apart from the obvious clipping?

My gran has a 13 year old Bichon who is amazing and she's had her since she was 8 weeks old. Quiet, loving, lets all other dogs paw her to death without even a whimper - in fact, I can hand on my heart say that she has never growled in her life. Her coat is manageable - I don't think they're a breed who particularly like rolling in mud or swimming tbh! She has a clip every couple of months. She is however, the most stupid dog ever and has been hard to train to do anything

I spose there will always be bad eggs as there are in all breeds but I would unreservedly recommend them :D

Intelligent (easy to train), fun loving, very hardy, very active when allowed to be (would be fab fo agility).
Need very regular grooming, love to be fussed and are a laugh a minute, very faithful little dogs and make fab companions. I really cannot say anything bad about the breed they are def one of the smaller breeds I would highly recommend.
