I have to say him is the best little horse I have ever owned .. He is willing , kind ,honest ,talented, but with the welshy spark .. Just love him ..couldn't ask for a better pony :)

I have two. They are absolutely my favourite breed!
Meg I have had for 8 years next month. 13.3 ball of fun! She has done everything and is just so cool. Not scared of anything, bolshy, strong and really whizzy. Sometimes quite sharp too but once you 'click' with her she is just awesome. I could go on and on about her all day, she's just so good. :D
You can put a novice on and she will be a superstar, put someone on whos not very good but thinks they are and she will go 'are you really?' and proceed to test them :D:D Pics:

Nesta I've had since May last year, she is the total opposite! Scared of her own shadow and plastic bags are the enemy! You can hear her before you see her cos of the snorting! She likes to think she is bolshy and strong but she isn't. I would actually say she's quite gentle and I've never seen her give any aggro to another horse she just likes to run away! Loves hacking and jumping, schooling is too much hard work so she would throw me off now and then ;) However we're getting on better together and after broncing with me last week or so and getting the smack on her bum of her life she was an angel for the next 4 days! She's a madam, far too smart for her own good just like Meg except she's quite backward thinking. Once you get her on side and going well however, much more fun!

This is what she was doing whilst Meg was charging about, even thinking about moving is hard work! :D:D

I have a 'D' cross TB and have had him 6 years. I can honestly say it took me a long time to understand how he works. He has been the most amazing horse i have had the chance to have. He always tries to please can be sharp but thats what i love about his personality :D

The 2013 Welsh Elementary Champion is a Welsh D, who says they can't do dressage ;)

I have known lots of D's, they are very slow maturing, with a bit of spark and a lot of presence about them. Most of the ones I know are kind, genuine and generous animals, willing to try anything.

tbf, Ive never heard anyone even suggest such a thing hehe - they are known to be fab for dressage! If you look in HHO most weeks there are D's featuring in the dressage results pages.

They really are very slow maturing, mine is 9 in September (ok, so technically 9 now) but she is just finishing maturing this year. She also has a huge amount of presence and look at me factor. She will try her hand at anything too, the perfect all rounder and she is a fab jumper. She can be sharp though and has a fabulous engine and is very forward going and can be strong. What I adore about her is that she will be whatever you want her to be really; i rode her the whole time I was pregnant, everything was low key and no fast work. During all that time she was never once sharp or strong. As soon as you start asking more however she definitely hots up. She is a sensitive girl and gets very tense if you put too much pressure on her.

Love mine

real do anything ponies but will keep you infuriated and amused in equal measure.

Mine showing his welsh side... he's usually asleep ;)

I bought one as a 2 year old colt "project", he was 14.1hh. I dont like section D welsh as I have never met a sane one in 25 years but he was so pretty I thought someone will like him!
I fell in love, he was the most adorable, adoring, loyal, intelligent, try his heart out pony ive ever met or had the priveledge to own, unfortunately at 4 he was still 14.1hh and of finer type and I was gutted he didnt grown on. But he is still a nice size for his type.
I backed him and then paid for pro schooling, sold him in january to a wonderful home despite the fact it broke my heart and he has just won a first ridden class with his new little girl who recovered from a very nasty riding accident and I am so proud of him. The judge commented on his temperament and manners for such a young pony.

But I dont think he is VERY typical of D's ive known some corkers in my time!

Never a dull moment and always fun!

I have an 11yr old gelding. He's an absolute saint and I would trust him even with the most scared novice person, but if you know where the buttons are he's really quite a talented little horse, currently competing BD elementary schooling PSG at home. He has a wonderful attitude towards his work, and despite being a lazy little toad you can hot him up and have some real fun with him!!

He's just come back from a week with my trainer whilst I was on holiday

I couldn't rate them highly enough! Mine is 22 now and I wouldn't have anything else. He has now been retired but not without working very hard all his life and trust me if he could he would keep going.

Absolute darling, could be strong but not overly and would always listen and I must say to my knowledge even before I had him he had never bolted. Very bombproof and just an absolute pleasure.

Was always eager to please, would do anything asked of him and incredibly versatile. He has done dressage, x country, show jumping, hunting etc in his time and was great at all disciplines. He'd hack for hours up and down dale and never ploddy. Great fun and definitely full of personality! Having said all that they are so sensible and I have even had my god children from very younge ages on him, I trust him explictly. Never put a foot wrong.

I find them one of the most beautiful as well, but I am biased. Mines chestnut with a stunning roman head, a blond tail and 4 white feathered socks. And I must say I like having a good strong pair of shoulders in front of me.

I would absolutely snap at the chance!! Go for it!! :) :D

My youngster (nearly 5) is a Sec D x Trad Cob and hovering around the 14hh mark but is bum high at the moment. She is steady in traffic most of the time but hates traffic crawling along behind her in case they want to bite her bum  Will quite happily tow you into the ford but won't walk through a puddle  Is a dope on a rope for little kiddies . . . . and loves her bum being scratched :D

I absolutely adore the Sec D and most of its crosses. They are fun horses once you get them onside ;)
