get one! my mare is VERY smart, very quick, strong and so bloody stubborn!!! And frankly quite rude but we're sorting that out
As much as I moan about her some days I'd have another just like her in a heartbeat
Bought my boy about 3 months ago as a confidence giver and he has done just that. He is absolutely gorgeous, very chilled, does everything with a smile on his face and has given me the confidence to compete again. I was warned off Sec D's as being feisty and strong but so far, touch wood, he has shown none of these traits and he is handsome and very affectionate to boot. I am converted, totally!
i have 2 Welsh D's, plus currently got a Welsh D x TB on loan. They're all about as spooky as each other, which is pretty darn spooky! Other than that they're pretty different in natures. None are novice rides though, that's for sure. All very talented in their individual ways.
My welsh d is good as gold and hes entire, you should never go by breed, Ive been called mad riding him out but there is absolutely nothing wrong with him, I new forest are worse!
I've got a 16 month old welsh D filly.
She was my dream horse when I bought her at 9 months old, they are by far my favourite breed.
She's as sweet an affectionate as could be, but also a fiesty little Madame at times.
I have come to the conclusion that the next few years are going to be very interesting, there will be tears, tantrums, frustration and also a lot of joy!
I can't see her ever being boring, she's by far the most intelligent horse I have ever known, you can acutally see her weighing you up and sussing you out, working out just how far she can push you, there is sheer devilment in her face at time, but then when she gently snuggles up to you to be petted, I realise just how loyal and loving she is also going to be.
I adore her, I wouldn't part with her for any amount of money and she remains my dream horse for the future x
I have a chestnut D x Hackney, gelding. Stunning looker and he knows it. Sulks when he's looking scruffy and prances around when he's just been groomed. Very spooky and scared of his own shadow but with the sweetest nature and manners to die for. so loving. Definitely boss of his herd though.
