I have a part bred, he's 50% arab by Saker (crabbet) out of a hanovarian x tb mare.
He's 16.2hh grey gelding, 7 years old. I've owned him from a yearling. He was bred at Harwoods Arabian Stud by the stud manager out of his own mare.
He's the horse in my sig x
He is 17hh registered part bred arab. He is 19.25% arab, 50.75% saddlebred and the rest thoroughbred. He is by Moonshine Vision and out of the saddlebred mare Roundhills Hawaiian Sensation. He's the palomino in my sig and he's lovely (most of the time
Hi what is it you really want to know? If it is are they all scatty crazy animals then my answer is no. my 1st pony who i got wen i was 12 was a 14.2hh full bred arab. he was quite cheeky and we had many ups and downs butr i wouldn't have swapped him for anything. more like a lazy welsh pony to be honest. hes 19 now and his character hasn't changed one bit. we've had him 13 years and he still plods up the village with my mum on the odd occasion. horses are all individual so don't just go on their breed x
My friend has a fab Pure bred arab mare who is just lovely. she can be a tad moody and a bit stressy when there are changed in her routine, but to handle she is super, she is a brilliant hack, great fun to jump and does a lovely dressage test. She is a brill allrounder.

Is THAT what you wanted to know? Ah, there was a thread about arabs on NL very recently. I honestly haven't met a bad arab yet and I've met a LOT of them.
I always heard that Warmbloods were as thick as two short planks, Shetlands are the devil incarnate, Haflingers are too strong willed to be good riding horses and all apaloosas are swines, but then I never believe rumour. Same with arabs
Chico Mio, I am VERY impressed at Ari staying on the right side of that wire, my mare just lines up and gallops straight through, and she teaches her babies to do it too. The QH's stay put with a bit of scary baler cord tied across the gate.

That is at his old owner's place and the area was huge with trees and a big open field bit. It actually had a brick wall or chainlink fence all the way round. The little sh*t did in fact break out through the electric fence at our place tonight - we found him and FB grazing the verge in the hamlet.
I would say it's a bit like having a big Border Collie, he needs to be kept amused or he is trouble!!
I have an Arab x Appaloosa he's lovely but took ages to bond with and to gain his trust.
He doesn't like new people or new situations and gets very nervous
He's stunning though imo but im his mummy so i would say that
My oldish arab mare is my horse for life! She is the dearest, sweetest natured horse ever. Can't ride her but we keep her as a big pet as she looks pretty in the field and you can't help but love her!
Here she is with her bootiful baby son
I had a pure bred arab mare for 16 years, she was my best mate, my soul mate, my everything, I ABSOLUTELY adored that horse and she did me too - we were together from when she was 6 months old, she was the prettiest, kindest, most fantastic ride ever, she looked after me through thick and thin, she saw me through one of my pregnancies and even rode her whilst preggers, trusted her with my life (sadly lost her to ruptured spleen when I was eight months pregnant) - I dream now of one day owning another arab but know i'll never have another like her again - so thus far have not gone there.
I've got two purebreds. They couldn't be more different! My gelding is so calm, bombproof, forward going but sensible. My mare is more your 'typical' arab, but she is younger and quickly learning to be more like my gelding. They are extremly intelligent and very people orientated. They enjoy a one to one relationship. Get that bond with them and they will trust you instinctively and you can do anything with them. My mare was unhandled until March this year, but she has learnt fast. In 6 months, we can catch her, she is rugged, she has been broken and she has shown successfully at national level.
My gelding (18 years old)
My Mare (8 years old, russian x crabbett)
Wouldn't go for any other breed now I've had arabs.
I have one crabbet mare, grey , called Fazzie, absolute sweetheart, fab hack, brilliant dressage. Home bred.
Also have dancer english breeding, chestnut 4 white socks and blaze with flazen mane and tail, absolutley stunning girl who is now retired but was a brilliant fun lively hack
