Also, with weightapes, it really depend where you put it, so we just try and put it in the same place to keep track or variation, not really what they actually weigh.

Chestnut mare I used to own (in piccy below with flaxen mane and tail), 16.2hh TB cross was 552KG on a proper weigh bridge at a vet school. She was in ideal condition, ie not over or under weight.

15.3hh middleweight ID X mare - she was 550kg when fit and healthy, ideally now she's just a happy hack I want her 575kg ish... she is currently anywhere between 600 and 650kg. She's only just back in work though after 18 months turned away!

My weigh tape says my medium build 15hh arab mare weighs 600kg, I didn't think that could be right though she is a bit tubby!
Any estimates for her 16 month old pure arab youngster approx 13.2hh now and a chunky 6 month old from a normandy cob mare, approx 13.3hh?

13.1 section B's- From 246 Kg as the slimmest one in poor condition to 406 Kg on a weight tape with huge grass belly.
13.3- fit pony, in my sig. Weight tapes from 378-385 KG
13.3-section C type was 432 weight tape, now 413 KG.

Not sure how accurate weight tapes are but they do show if the girth is increasing or decreasing.

15h cob 525 on weigh tape but 650 kilos on vet hospital weighing stall.
If you are calculating for owrming does, a 10 or 20% more is no risk and letter than underdosing which leads to incomplete worming, and resistant worms,
If for transport loading, again go for top estimate as better to be on safe side.
