I'm currently stuck in bed due to twisting my knee badly ski racing today for my Uni. Everyone else is going to the big ball tonight n i'm stuck in bed. :(
Anyone want to cheer me up with some funny horse stories?? :)

I took my boy to the dressage today and found out we have something else to add to our scared of list ... the wooden retaining board at the arena gate, he took such a dislike to it he felt the need to give it a massive margin of clearance (the board was 3" max) and he put in such a whoping jump I ending up hanging off the side in a very unlady like manner only just avoiding hitting the deck.

The other inhabitants of the warm up area were in absolute stitches but you know, it's all just part of the service that we provide to make everybody else feel more assured that they don't have the worst behaved horse there

Just got my feed samples out to prepare for tomorrows Pony Club rally and a mouse has been in the container - how she got in was puzzling until I discovered a mouse sized hole in the bottom.

She has chewed all my tiny plastic bags into a beautiful cozy nest, eaten a lot of the Linseed samples - so she'll have a shiny coat and its proven, mice prefer oats. There are less little bags of oats than any other sample. :)

The fact I was well & truly closed by my 7yr old. She has her own pony, my 14.2, & more offers than she can fulfill of other ponies to ride & care for. Never the less, she wants a sec b x tb she's seen for sale or full loan, for xmas. I told her its the keeping it, regardless of if its loaned. She asked me if her pony needed an extra bale of straw a week, could we afford it. If her pony didn't self trim, could I afford to pay to get her feet done. And I found out this afternoon she asked my boyfriend if instead of buying her stickers & sweets on Sunday mornings, could she have a small bale of hay. She then got back to me with it will only cost me a small bale of hay a week extra, & she'll have jabs & teeth as bday presents. Unfortunately, I've had to explain in more detail, but have promised another pony when she's 10.

Excellent ride on my TB mare, followed by going to look at a Jaguar XF with OH and buying it! and then got my Haysoft supplies and Hunter shavings and then back up to put neds to bed! a great day, tomorrow horses out, car to be cleaned, dogs big walk and riding in the afternoon, great weekend so far!

I bought my pony a lottery ticket! He came in from the field covered in money spiders! While I was brushing them off I was talking to him and told him if I get a money spider on my, I buy a lottery ticket. He threw his head up and down and blew a raspberry. That was my sign! Ha ha ha ha ha so I got him one on the way home :D xx

I've come to the conclusion I'm going mad (well, I've alway known it really!) This evening I was giving Ethel a groom and when I'd finished I said, "Right, now I've just got to put your jarmas on and brush your teeth!" What I meant to say was "put your rug on and pick your feet out" .. Mad I tell you ..

I hope you are on the mend!

My crazy hot headed mare who was very lame and semi retired 10 yes ago, made her return to dressage today at 21 years of age:D
It wasn't earth shattering in terms of marks but I am so proud of her.

The rat that lives under the stallions manger ran over my feet when I was trying to give him his breakfast... I schreached like a fool and then half an hour later when I was poo picking his field saw said rat try to scale the wall like a ninja...

So far we have lost half a bin of happy hoof to him and his family, numerous buckets and bins, some ready prepared breakfasts.

Damn cat (who I love, but wish he had a taste for rat) prefers to hunt rabbits and the doves. He is often seen proudly trotting along with a rabbit in his jaws. YO thinks kitty is too old and slow to catch rats, I know he just doesn't see a point in wasting his precious time with rats when there are bigger beasts to bag... may have to dig out the poison I think.

Put an advert up as I need a new share/part loan pony and had 5 replies in 2 days!

Haven't plucked up courage to ring any yet though!

I got on my jumper mare today who felt strangely very powerful and seems to have grown even more at 6. I've always thought she was a big strong type of mare but now she finally seems like she has it altogether. My husband was amused because he asked me a question and I could not think to answer. I just mumbled that I couldn't talk right now because i might end up bucked off landing in town a mile away. She was good but I'm really used to her being quite low key.

Not exactly horsey but I was on my way to the yard when I drove past an amazingly hot looking guy, I was so busy ogling him I nearly crashed into a bus shelter, straightened up sharply and tipped the bucket of sugarbeet all over my boot...
:(

I managed to get tangled up in an electric fence with my youngster, she was running off with the fence round her legs with me hanging on to her while getting pulled along with the wire as all the horses took off! Could have ended badly but luckily we all emerged apparently unscathed. Then I set the microwave on fire...

Was out skateboarding on dartmoor and a wild pony decided to come a check out hubby skateboard and even got a leg on. He videoed it s cute it was.

My 6 yo daughter's sec A has come up from his field for a 'sleepover'. She's now all tucked up in bed and he's got his bum backed up to the tree outside her bedroom window with his eyes closed and head drooping. OH is oohing and ahhing and I shall have to check carefully before going to bed that he hasn't actually smuggled him into the kitchen for the night.
So cute :)

erm, Shy and I were busily doing nothing in the yard, filling up several water buckets, when about 40 hounds came in to the barn from nowhere (good as gold) and drank the whole bloomin lot. then left as fast as they'd arrived. Shy and I just looked at each other, and shrugged... he loves dogs, but has never met hounds, and never that many, bless him .;)

I finally got my hoover mended today and after hoovering up the living room after over a week without it ( have three dogs who delight in bringing mud in and dropping hair everywhere and a daft chicken who likes to live in the house) I realised I had forgotten there was a pattern on my carpet!

I had poo soup to deal with this morning as Mr Arnie decided to have a party last night and completely trashed his stable and pooed in one of his water buckets :(
