Temperament and Breeds

Why would anyone be surprised at an Anatolian going for a judge? They are guarding dogs through and through and notoriously unpredictable temperament-wise.

tbh I would be surprised at any breed at that level of showing going for a judge-I'd have thought temperament (regardless of breed) should mean that they can be inspected-what then happens at the vets?

In terms of horses for courses, we don't expect Shire horses to excel at showjumping or Arabians to pull logs, do we? There are enough breeds out there to show, I do wonder why humans insist on shoving square pegs into round holes.

well I agree with that too lol. I'd have thought that this dog would have been experienced in being inspected though-unless the judge was giving off a vibe. And I don't care what anyone thinks, I'd rather a small dog go for me than one with the head the size of a bear hence the 'crikey'.

my only involvement with an AS was one that the owners couldn't keep contained apparently, when I lived in Lewes. the vet practice picked him up several times on the request of concerned people who'd seen him roaming the streets. he seemed amiable enough.
