I've always thought of them to be quite fiery breeds, but would like to know other peoples opinions

How are they like handling wise, I know it depends on the horse but from your experience what do you think? All opinions appreciated

I've got a Latvian Warmblood, don't know whether thats anything similar to Danish ones!! But she also has hannoverian in her.

She is an absolute sweetheart, not fiery at all !! Shes on box rest at the moment and is just the most patient horse i've ever had..not fiery (ever) in my opinion but i think its got a lot to do with how they have been brought up.

I always think if she was a person, she would be a kind old lady. (even though shes five!!)

I always thought that thoroughbreds are more fiery..

I used to manage a Danish Warmblood stud and I have to say they are probably one of the nicest, easiest going of the Warmbloods that I have ever met. Gentle giants with usually beautiful natures.

Dansk Varmblods are the only WB that I would consider buying....personal opinion and all.

Friend has a Hanoverian, he was sooo soppy, biG gentle giant, but brilliant dressage horse. I find Trakeheners can be quite sharp, but then it's the same with all breeds, there's good and bad.

depends on the specific bloodline. its like with ish some are real quiet some are real sharpetc. pm me if you want and i can give you specifics relating to specific horses/stallions etc.

I also have found Trakeheners to be quite sharp....however to me, they are by far the most beautiful looking.

All the Hanoverians I have known have been sweeties, typical "warmblood" temperaments. As the others have said, Trakehners can be sharp (but are definately very beautiful), and my YO's Westphalian X is a total fruit cake! Not met a Danish Wb yet.

Im going to agree with Tia (happens a lot!) IMO the Danish Warmbloods are the "nicest" of all of them in terms of their temperaments and handleability. Furthermore, ive always, always found them to be the most intelligent from a training point of view. They seem to pick things up very quickly and have a willingness about them which makes everything sooo much easier.

My boy is part Danish and im on a yard just about full of Danish warmbloods

ETS im quite sure when we start looking for a youngster for me, it'll be a danish warmblood unless i find an absolutly exceptional Iberian bred horse... which is doubtful i think

Trakehners supposed to have the most TB blood in them, hence their sharpness compared with other variations of wb. Remember that all these WBs are product of British TB and British pony blood bought from the UK to improve the foreign product which needed British equine bloodlines to improve the previous WB 'product'.

know a few WestP. ponies and agree those are sharp compared with rheinlander ponies I've seen.

You could of course buy a nice BRITISH warmblood ;-))

I had a lovely han that I showed he was sensitive but very honest and an absolute sweety to do, excellent in heavy traffic etc but just got quite buzzy at parties he was fab, is now a pony clubbers schoolmaster bless!

My hanoverian is German and is very loving and easy to do in the stable, He can be a pain when turning out but hasn't got a bad bone in his body. Riding wise he is extremely smart and I have to vary the work I do a lot. If we do several half passes he starts to anticipate and does it all by himself (Badly usually!). I would definitely have another.

Ummm I've got a mare who is out of a TB mare by a Danish Warmblood stallion (grandsire Voltaire) and I love her to bits, but she is a dominant, opinionated madam and quite a grump in her box. How much of this is nuture v nature I don't know though, as she was, in my opinion, spoilt with kindness as a youngster and when I got her at 4 (she's 12 now), she didn't know the meaning of no! Just I can't, I won't, I'll stamp my feet and bite you till you give in!! LOL!

I do love her to bits thought and she has talent (more than I do!) and is extremely intelligent (learns quickly good and bad!)

Must say I would have another one in a shot and when the time comes to get my next youngster as my mare grows older, I think it will be a full registered Danish if I can get one this time.

Snoopy is dutch, and i can honestly say hes the nicest little guy i have ever owned. We've had a couple of problems with his attitude about a month ago, but that was due to pain. Now hes back to how he was, very easy to train and loves ppl.

Trakehners are sharp, playful and cheeky! Snoops dam is trakhener. I used to work on a TB and Trakener stud.

My Henry is Danish and you couldn't want for a more polite, gentle horse.

Spider is half Danish, half Dutch and he too, although he's a 2 year old colt and can be 'playful', has a lovely nature.

I don't think you can generalise. My new boy is registered AES and is classed as a warmblood. Not quite sure what he is tho - he has Hannoverian, Selle Francais, Holstein, TB and is also 1/8 pony (grandma - dam's mum)!!! He is the sweetest horse on the ground to handle and lunge, but a bit sharp under saddle - he'll come though given time!

I think my point is that it depends entirely on how the horse has been bred (parentage) and how it was / has been handled. With registered warmbloods with any of the societies is that they can be a combination of a lot of the different warmbloods - my boy could actually be a Hanoverian, Dutch or a Holstein!!!

my flemmingh/roemer bred filly has an excellent temperment!shes been almost unflabable but not dull to handle.she has plenty of snort about her but no nastiness and she is very willing.in fact i cant fault her!
some of the WB lines are renownd for hot difficult horses, some arent.
