I will say though, if you lay them 'correctly' they're definitely not easy to lay! I've recently moved mine and just put them down like you but they should be staggered ideally.

Honestly, it's not worth the hassle, I think your way is fine!
This is a picture of how they say to lay them but it's an absolute slog

If there is any chance you will want to ever take them up it will be a lot easier the way you have laid them. Laid the 'correct' way they take a lot more moving.
