One of the horses I look after is usually bandaged to support her tendons, but recently a friend of the owner has said to use tendon boots instead as they provide more support?

I thought that tendon boots were mostly to prevent the legs from knocks when jumping? The ones we have are pretty much a hard shell at the back and round the sides, and I don't really see how these particular ones offer more support than a bandage?

What kind of boots would offer the best support? We only do flatwork, if that changes anything.

Thanks! x

Yes the tendon boots have a strike pad to protect from overreaches when jumping.
Id stick to bandages as long as theyre fitted ok or maybe someone could suggest a boot type that would help keep the tendons cooler than bandages.
