Hello everyone would just like to hear about your horses tendons injuries, my horse done he's deep digital tendon in about 9 months ago now ! He had loads of scans injection and fluid drained from it , they then decided to send him for a op which looking back I wish I never put him through it as he went more lame then ever , they then rescanned him and was still showing loads of soft tissue damage , he is now wearing a shoe with a heel on to take pressure of the tendon , he is looking good in walk but still very lame in trot , my question is when your horses did there tendon in did they ever come sound again if so how long did it take you ? Before when he did he's front tendon in he was aloud to be ridden in walk after 3 months , but this time with he's hind it's been 9 months and still not aloud to be ridden vets orders thanks guys sorry it's long

Cant help much with a ddft injury mines done his sdft in front, do u mind me asking what the surgery was? My guy had surgery 2 months ago and is recovering very well he hasnt been lame at all throughout the injury (injured it back in sept) i dont expect to be back on board until aug so that will be 11 months post injury but hes up to 20mins on the walker atm will reach 30 then get scanned again and chucked out in the field for the next 6 months :) hope it goes to plan for u eventually :)

Feel free to pm if u want to chat :)

My lad damaged his hind tendon in March last year, two weeks box rest, ice packs and cold hosing, followed by walking him out and restricted turnout, he is now sound, but I am still careful, using his tendon boots for hacking and no fast trotting on roads
