Hey guys,

tmr is my first month anniversary with my 10-yr old mare (: But after riding today, I checked her tendons and she has a slightly warm spot just on top of the fetlock (the rest of the tendon seems fine)and which I thought was puffier than the rightfore.

Please advise! I don't know how to tell if it's an early sign of a tendon injury or could it just be normal cos when I rode her, she seemed perfectly fine and not lame. However, I play polo with her so I don't know if all the stopping and turning today caused it!

all advise appreciated.

Thanks!

could be a windgall?? just keep hosing it for 20 mins a time as often as possible if it is a windgall they usually settle and dont often cause lameness unless they are attached i think its called articular or something like that but as she is sound i wouldn't worry too much if you think the tendons are ok but keep hosing get the heat out might be an idea to take it easy over the next few days though just in case good luck

hey doodle berry,

thanks for the advice. Read up about windgall but many have said that windgall symptoms are lumps?

My mare doesn't have lumps (last I checked)

I still turned her out cos she hates stables but am going to check on her tmr. advise pls!thanks
