Does anyone have any experiance of the above? My mare has damaged her near hind tendon sheath.

Has had it scanned and tested for infection, which was clear. Due to go back in for cortisone and something else injections on Monday, which I hope work as otherwise they want to do a tendonsocopy under GA....*wibble*

Am so sorry to read this - vibes to Holz and hugs for you!

How has she damaged it?

I have experience of Tenosynovitis which is inflammation of the tendon sheath, but that is as far as my experience goes, so I think I may not be much help

Just in the field. God knows how as she doesn't really charge around. She went out at 6.30am, by 6.45am she wouldn't put it down.

I would love to know too. My eventer did his in the field too. He has had all the icortizone injections and is no better (in fact it now looks worse) waiting for the insurance company to pay us for the first part of the treatment before we consider what to do next. The vet said there is surgery that can be done but I don't know what that is as they think the sheath may have ruptured now. Does anyone know what the surgery is, how long do they need to stand in for and what is the success rate? Thank you

Well I'm seeing the vet again on Monday - a different one as the one I saw is in Tibet!! The one I'm seeing was acctually in surgery doing a tendonoscopy while H was being scanned.

I will ask him the procedure, success rates, other treatments etc
