My horse came in lame last week with swollen knees and tendons in both front legs. He has caught his front legs with his flying around the field antics so Been cold hosing 3x a day 20 minutes each leg and also on bute.

Two days later, pretty much all the heat, swelling and lameness is gone but there is some thickening (superficial/poss deep flexor area), it is not sore, its cold but there seems to be a small sort off hard lump that has been hardening up since he done it. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas what this could be?

Vet said going to scan the tendon when swelling is down so going to ring tomorrow and get the horse booked in.

After a weeks training at SLM xc/sj my mare had a similar thing with 1/10th lameness. The vet scanned her and said it was just thickening of the tendon and would possibly disappear. Came back to rescan after a month off and had gone back to normal. I cold hose now after every session on hard/very deep ground to cover myself but hadnt had any probs since.Good luck :)x

Thank you for your reply! I feel much better about him hes a super little horse Im just sick of waiting for the scan haha thanks again :)
