For those of you that asked to be kept informed....
Some of you will remeber my previous post about my lads tendon. Last week the vet suspected he has injured his check ligament and has said if he had it could be 6-9 months box rest!
I was sceptical as he had not been lame or in any pain.
Yesterday we went for a scan. She took ages and couldnt find anything, until another vet suggested there might be something there. They concluded that he has just damaged a few of the fibres on the outside of the check ligament. However i dont know if this was just to cover their backs abit, as she couldnt see it all the time and to me it just looked blury (the scan image on the screen was going on/off blury and abit dodgy)
Anyhow hes on walk and trot for 3 weeks, then build it back up. Of course i will follow their advice, but might change my vets. Just got to find someone willing to ride him when i go away next week!- everyone thinks he's a nutter! He's just abit playfull after two weeks box rest! lol!

Why?? Doesn't seem like they've given you anything other than a reasonsble service.

Well, that sounds positive, and very similar to what Bo did to himself. We took longer to bring him back, and if i'm honest, i'm still paranoid about it now...nearly 3 months down the line

Just keep an eye on it, and if there is any sign of the swelling returning then stop immediately

AmyMay- For reason i havent posted about, i rang up for advise(last week) and mentioned that i was taking him to see a back specialist in the the next few days. They were not happy and didnt really want to come and see him, as i was using another vet. They then said you havent used us for a year ("i do hope your horses jabs are up to date") I said yes but another livery organised it as they were all due together, she organised another local vet. I do not see the point in paying £25 call out for a jab for one horse when there's another vet coming and we can share call out. They were just generally quite off and sounded like they didnt want to come out.
Oh and when i took him their last week she didnt check whether he was lame or not, just took my word for it. Just didnt think that was very good, for all they know i could not no one end of a horse from another, let alone a lame horse!!

I think it's called professional etiqeutte. My vet's would do the same to me if I started using other vets.

Yes a specialist in backs, they are not. What should i have of done let them mess around proding and poking and still not sorting his back out. I cannot use the other vets all the time as they are 200+ miles away.
i understand its professional etiqeutte but they shouldnt be so picky on who they treat, my moneys just as good as others. Well thats how i see it anyway!
