I have always used the Kong squeaky balls. They used to be indestructible and I would only need to replace one if it was lost. They seem to have changed how they are made as now after one or two walks they are useless!!

So recommendations? I need a durable tennis ball that doesn't cave easily with a collie chomping on it all the time. Must fit in a launcher!

Starmark indestructible yellow foam balls. Only thing my dog doesn't destroy. They come in a small tennis ball size. Wouldn't touch actual tennis balls.

Great, have ordered one :)

Keep recommendations coming though. I'll order one of everything then can decide which suits best :)

The Durafoam are my preference (they float too), they also do a green treat dispensing ball but my dog loves it a bit too much. It bounces fast/erratically and he can chomp it flat, so I keep it for special occasions :p

My yorkie only has slazanger tennis balls. He has destroyed every brand of dog toy tennis ball he has in all dog 'sizes'.

It is his mission in life to destroy them, and destroy them he does.

When he has split them so they no longer bounce away, the other one then takes them in for peeling the skin off them! (Its not a choking hazard, he peels them whole...)

Slazanger balls still get destroyed but it takes him longer (read months not hours).

i had a friend ,her terrier carried a `proper` tennis ball everywhere, the vet said they are very abrasive and that it had worn her teeth down.
i have a street hockey ball (came over from neighbours boys ) very staffie proof :) and not too weighty.

I used tennis balls in a remote controlled ball dropper as they were the only things that would fit in the tube. In the time it took him to collect the ball and return to me, the inside was crushed and was being held together by the fabric. Four in a row. Plus the fabric gets covered in goop, ewww.
