Hi...my 8 year old mare has been diagnosed with chronic tenosynovitis with plantar annular ligament constriction. She was referred to Leahurst and went in on the 22nd of july. The operated on the friday, trimming all the loose fibres off the tendons and cut annular ligament in both hind legs, pony came home 4 days later and was fine on complete box rest. Monday 5th august, pony was slightly lame on one hind leg. Vet came and removed sutures and injected hyaluronic acid into both tendon sheaths. She went from slightly uncomfy to crippled on 3 legs in space of 4 hours. Emergency referral to Leahurst and we arrived in the early hours of tuesday morning. Pony went back into surgery and had a tendon flush. Shes now off painkillers but still on antibiotics. Having taps every other day and levels have dropped slightly but they cant tell if its just a flare or an infection. Worried sick and just wondered if anyone else had any experience of this? Any advice is welcome, thankyou x
