Tension settings for Liveryman Arena

Hi there

I have an old Liveryman Arena (not plus). I have never been able to get the tension right on the thing. Its driving me mad.
Has any one got them and can give me some advice.

I have the same and the instructions say turn till tight then undo one and a half turns. I vary this between one and a half and two turns and that is usually about right. Just keep them well oiled.

From memory I think that you turn the clippers on and tighten the tension and then back it off until the tone of the clippers change. Not very precise and needs a bit of fine tuning. Hence why I swapped to Lister!

you see thats just it - i must have faulty ears but i cant hear the tone change .

I have the same problem. I'm tone deaf and just can't hear any change.
I tighten mine so they are just tight enough to cut the hair and keep tightening as necessary. Is this incredibly bad for clippers?
Would love to hear any alternatives and very glad to hear I'm not the only one!

Rubyred, that is exactly what I do with my clippers!

As charliepup said - tighten them to tight, then loosen by one and a half (ish) turns. Works for me!
