a very relieved and pleased PS here!
after thur, when his lordship was so vile that we didnt bother to go to Addington Premier League on fri, as planned, I texted trainer begging for some input and another set of eyes, so off we went for a lesson at his today......
.....well.......Star was foot perfect!
warmed him up long and low and stretchy, and really concentrated on me not doing bizarre things with my left hand, on the left rein.making me counter flex and ride him round from my outside aids and "STOP FIDDLING WITH YOUR LEFT HAND!!!!"
picked him up and he was soft, light, through and forward from the off (first rather humpy grumpy canter transition aside!), so we worked though teh shoulder in, travers and half pass in trot and then the counter canter and medium canter work.
need to remember to let the shoulder in and travers swing forward and "be on the brink of too much" and not hold him up, so he learns to balance under my seat and not wait for/rely on the hand to help him.
counter canter need to keep the neck straighter or else i get changes (nice changes, but still not required!!!!).
so i am uber pleased and now looking forward to Vale View on sun
warm up trot:
warm up canter:
trot:
travers:
med trot and doggy!
canter G&R on inside rein:
counter canter with me laughing my head off!
