Terminally-ill market trader 'overwhelmed' as hospital grants his dying wish

Tears in my eyes - may you rest in peace and thanks to those that made your dying wish come true.

I know how good I feel around my lovely Clydesdale mare - and as I am getting on I do worry what will happen to her if I go before her. At the moment I just can't decide who to will her to - will they sell her or keep her to the end of her days and love her as I do. I hope that when my time comes there will be friends around me who will grant my last wish with such caring.

Another one with tears! God Rest you, Mr. Thorpe, I am so glad you were able to say goodbye to your old friend, Ben. How lovely such compassion was shown to this poor man, well done all concerned. Beautiful and touching picture, what a stunning Shire. RIP.

What a wonderful gesture - hopefully he passed away more settled, knowing that his horses were ok. I can't believe some people have left offensive comments on the comments board of the newspaper website - where has respect and compassion gone?

Lovely and sad at the same time. I hope that eased his passing and he went in relative peace.

And a huge thumbs up for the NHS which so often get a slagging but is actually the thing that makes me the proudest that I am British.

how lovely the hospital allowed that. This story has touched me on a personal note today so thanks for sharing.

ETA Jesstickle I agree, I have had plenty of cause for complaint of the NHS over the years but this year, on several occasions, I have been overwhelmed and humbled by just how good they are when you really need them.
