Terrier play?!

Is it just my little puppy monster, or do all terriers have a rather 'unique' way of playing with each other?

Stan has a new best friend at the park (a 14 week old mini jack russell) and they literally just leap on each other and wrestle non stop - it looks rather vicious but no one ever gets hurt and they both LOVE playing like that.

I think I might have to add this to my ever-growig list of "things I had no idea about" as a first time dog owner!!
 
I have a parsons JR who is 2yo and a new Puppy JR who is nearly 6 months - they play like this constantly i really do worry sometimes they hang onto each others collars and ears xx
 
That's the way most dogs play, my two do it too, looks and sounds a lot worse than it is, but it is totally normal, and very puppy-ish behaviour :)
Sometimes I've heard some unearthly noises and run over expecting blood and gore, but it's all gob and no trousers, once they've told each other off, it's back to the wrestling. 9/10, if one dog goes to far, they sort each other out with no harm done and I like to see dogs being able to play like that.
 
The Patterdale who comes to our office sometimes is like a Ninja - Henry tries to squish her and she just sort of scythes his legs out from under him and jumps on him (or she goes for the ears, the dirty fighting little madam):D
 
My two do this almost constantly. Terriers seem to make a lot of vicious noises but I can tell straight away with the pitch and sound, when its turning serious!
 
Betsy goes for the ears... on the large lab next door... to be honest im suprised she can even reach them!

My old terrier used to bite the ridgys feet and ears, she used to but his whole head in her mouth and chew his collars off constantly! Deffinatly looked and sounded worse than it was!

ditto... Lady Tara puts up with so much but when she has had enough she shows her teeth and younger boy is off like a shot! in fact, come to think of it, wish I could have had the same level of control with the previous men in my life.. when she doesn't want him near her all it takes is one slight curl of the lip (with a quick look at me to see if I have seen) and Blaze stays well away..
 
Yep my dog and my sisters dog used to do this. I used to panic and seperate them and now my dog isnt good with other dogs. I blame myself totally for this so let them play i wish i had!!
