Terrier racing

Anyone do it? Anyone know about it? Is it fun? etc etc!

My older bitch loved a bit of terrier racing but sulked big time if she wasn't allowed catch the lure and wouldn't run a second time

The younger bitch - who really wasn't a typical JRT - wouldn't even start, just sat and looked at the other dogs and I'd have to fgo bback to the start line to collect her.

Current JRT I haven't tried as he's start a fight but I don't think he'd be much good as he has little or no chase instinct.

Only even done 'fun' racing at county or game shows...it was great fun but quite a bit of embarrassment too!

I think my dog would LOVE it. His chase instinct is insane! Just trying to find somewhere local (Cambs) to give it a go!

Our older dog used to LOVE this when Bramham Horse Trials had the Country Fair day on the final day of the horse trials. He was fab - one time he 'won' the race and then stalked the lurethen in the arena. All the other dogs had given up but he was brill and the organisers loved it and made a show of him, it was hilarious!

My jrt loves it. It's great fun. Usually it's at local country shows or some hunt terrier/lurcher shows have it.

I'm not sure if my Border Terrier would chase or just stop to play with the other terriers!
