Tesco Leather cleaner - suitable for cleaning tack?

I wouldn't but then again I wouldn't use most of the expensive cleaners either and at least this one is unlikely to contain glycerine so your tack won't be sticky and more susceptible to mould. If you want really cheap everyday tack cleaning a simple damp cloth will suffice. A good cost effective way to clean leather furniture and car seats is with baby wipes. I also use baby wipes to clean my leather girth every time I use it - it's quick, easy and convenient.

I've sent you an article on tack cleaning and conditioning, including how to make your own conditioner, Oz :)

I've got some of your tack conditioner that I use and it's brilliant but I always struggle with warming it up. Is there anything I can add to make it a bit softer so it can be used without warming it up?

I have very hot hands so I use them to melt it but if you can't or won't do that and have time, stand the tub in a bowl of hot water for as long as you can. That will soften it, whatever you do, don't put it in the microwave to melt it and no, nothing really you can add to make it more useable straight from the tub, it's the price you pay for having all natural ingredients I'm afraid, Oz

Oops! Mine may have been in the microwave :o I'll have another go with hands, I'd tried sticking it in the water but often run out of time.

Thanks :)

There is a lot of fat in it, fats are flammable so not worth the risk of putting it in a microwave as well as one of the ingredients is sensitive and can be damaged by microwaving it.
I just cut a lump of it off and hold it in my hands, then rub it between them, soon melts.
