Hi, I've just bought a lightweight rug off Ebay.

It was cheap and I'm fairly pleased with it, but it has no branding on it, just a label inside that says 'Tesco stores.'

Do Tesco or have they at any point in the past sold their own brand rugs? Just wondering what brand I have!?

It's navy and red in colour.

I think they may have done a few years ago when they did their little line in equestrian things, if it said tesco then it must have come from there!

Ok thanks, I just wondered if maybe they sold them on behalf of another brand, but then I suppose it would say so on it! Oh well, I just won't tell my boy it's a tesco value rug ;) lol.

Yea they did sell rugs for a while I think

Thanks! You don't happen to know how long ago roughly do you? Just wondering how old the rug might be. There wasn't much info in the listing but just took a gamble and bid as it was cheap. Looks like a fairly decent rug anyway so not too disappointed.

My horse has thefleece. It was reduced to £10 so thought worth a punt.

Pleasantly surprised to say washes well, wickes efficiently and looks smart. Also has satin lined shoulders.

Absolute bargain.

Think it is 4/5 years old

I had a tesco fly sheet, it was great, tried to get another and they had stopped doing them, had a branded one from them instead and it was no-where near as good! This was 5 or 6 years ago I think. :)

At our yard, we all had Tesco over reach boots - excellent and as good, if not better, than the really expensive ones. They were neoprene type and the velcro was good too - coping with the mud and arena surfaces. Shame they don't have them any more

Erm think they stopped doing it maybe a year ago? Maybe not even that. I got some Harry hall riding gloves from them on tescos direct. Funny coz pets and home and Argos both did an equestrian range for a while too, then it fizzled out and they all now don't do it!

Yes I have a tesco turnout rug, got it for £10 about 2 years ago. Its sort of a lightweight no fill type and I use it as a spare if my amigo light weight is soaked or being repaired. It has been a good rug and a real bargain!

I had a Tesco mw combo turnout. Paid about £20 in a big sale they had and it was a great rug. Fitted my tb like a glove. I had it washed and reproofed, put it bag in the loft now it must have grown legs as it is no longer there :(

Came across these by accident recently. I'd be tempted, if only Tesco didn't use Yodel delivery service, whose business plan is roughly based around only writing half the address on your parcel and then dumping it in a back room somewhere.

Thanks for the replies everyone! Tried it on him this evening and it's a good fit :) Looks very smart and good quality.

It was fairly cheap, but considering people have said they paid £10 new for them I may have paid slightly over the odds! But not to worry, it's pretty much like new and I probably wouldn't have found one cheaper!

I did notice in the label it also says 'S/S '06'; I've told him it's designer vintage and not 6 year old Tesco value ;) Lol.

Don't get me started on Yodel! I just love it when they chuck my parcels over the garden fence, or even better - leave them with some random 'neighbour' three streets away and don't bother putting a note through the door to tell me!

Had a poor local resident turn up on my doorstep carrying a wheelbarrow for me that he said he'd had left with him and it had been over a week! I, meanwhile, had been complaining to the company about why it hadn't arrived yet!

I had a tesco light weight turn out for ages, cream cotton lined, navy with red binding it was about 6 years old but never ripped and fitted nicely. They were really cheap and I've looked out for them since but I think it was a one off thing. Sadly my current boy is too for it!

I brought a tesco turnout rug about 6 years ago and to be honest its probably one of the best rugs I have! Fits all the horses I've had really well abd isn't showing any signs of wear. I think I paid about £30.

I have a fleece the only thing wrong with it is the rats have nibbled it at some point and my horse has nearly grown out of it!!
Probably the best fleece I have ever brought though as everything else seems to stretch round the neck !!
Is a shame they don't do them anymore as I would certainly buy another!!

This sounds like the exact one I have now got :) He looks really smart in and it's a good fit; wish they still made them now!
