Sorry, I've just seen instructions on how to show a photo rather than a link and had to see it worked :)

If it does work you will see Isobel, my first whippet, from 26 years ago.....gulp..... :)

She was gorgeous, I absolutely adored her even though I had supposedly bought her to show and she was appalling from the show point of view :D Whippet owners always think I am mental when I make a bee-line for their dogs, I can't think why :p

What a pretty pup! Why Lévrier?!

Just wiki'd it-sight hound or long dog!! Of course! Lievre is a hare in French, like leveret in English.

Well done CT I wondered if anyone would get it :) when I googled it the translation was given as 'greyhound' :) :)

French teacher, hun! And always use the Collins dictionary, best by far!! It was all in French when I looked at a google search. Did she have fine paws? Not big floofy ones?! :tongue3:

See, that's why I got confused about the hare thing!! And the wine probably didn't help :p

Should have gone German - der WINDHUND!

I thought hare, babies, but Windhund is good, nice and obvious!!

Oh dear Levrier, you do keep us on our toes with your name changes!

Love the whippet pup. My first one was white, very beautiful and called Dalstar Snow Queen, we called her Sula (from the Monica Edwards books).

Ah, the memories, 40years ago......oh no, not THAT long!!

Oh Chiffy that is awesome - my sister is Lindsey, I was nearly Tamzin (which would have been MUCH better than what I ended up with!) and we had Meryon, Dion and Dickon amongst many, many other dogs when I was growing up :)

I think the Forum Admin Team might have a fit if I ask to change my name again to Windhund :p I actually really like Levrier IF I could remember how to get the accent above the first e on my keyboard!!!

Hah, glad its difficult to put the accent in, I haven't got a clue!

Another Monica Edwards lover. I now have the whole set of Romney Marsh and Punchbowl, some as old as me and some reprints, to leave to my Grandaughter.
They are a good place to find nice names.

That is some doing - my mum collected most of them in hardback when they were first issued, but many generations of puppies have attacked them over the years so they are not in great condition any more :D I agree about the names, when I was a young (and unconventional!) teenager I had a kestrel called Vashti :)

Off to google 'how to put an accent over an e' now :p

Hmmmm, apparently you hold down the alt button..... Lévrier.....what do you know, it works :)

Hold down ALT key and use the number pad to the right to add accents. Small case é is 130, è is 138 etc. Or the iPad just gives you a choice if you hold the letter down. You could also go to insert then symbol, but that's a bit long winded.
