Testing poo ph!

Hi there for those of you who have tested the ph of your horse’s poo how did you do it? I’ve tried the ph test strips but the poo just discolours them so I don’t think this is reliable - what am I doing wrong? Thanks

if the sample is staining your litmus papers, you could try diluting the sample in de-ionized water. You'll need an accurate way to measure the volume of the water, then the volume after diluting the sample in it.

Check the water, beforehand, to make sure it's neutral (pH 7).

Then follow the instructions here to work test the solution and then to calculate the original pH of the sample.
