Tests came back!!!

Just watched some off your youtube clips, shes a lovely mare typical teenagers horse speedy but to be hoest you wouldnt want her any other way would you! :D.
From observing you just need to do less, your firing her at the jumps just sit a bit quieter and keep your legs on and shell slow down a bit. But you ride quite well, defo get some gridwork in that will slow her down a bit, a line of bouces, then 1 or 2 strides, i had a jumping horse as a teenager which i fired at jumps and this helped me slow him down as i didnt want to rush into a big line of bouces! ;) and it will get her making a more rounded shape too, your doing fine though you shouldnt be ashamed of yourself!!! :D:)

Also to the others if you read the clip comments it says, joke shes not for sale its for a competition!!!

Get yourself some purple spray for the ringworm.
We have used Gold label purple spray or gentian violet spray from battles.

This poor girl is getting told 10000 different things to do but just a thought... If Ebs was to rub on the fence or something whilst in the school, would the infection not spread, or for example, you obviously touch her, lead her into the menage, ( touch the gate to shut it - then others touch it too ) then get the jumps out, you are then infecting the poles etc and then when other liveries get them out they get the infection on their hands and the ringworm spreads further... This is taking it to the extreme obviously, but maybe just whilst it clears up you would be better just walking her out in hand so she can't touch anything, or lunging her with a lunge rope rather than loose schooling her??

I feel awful adding another bloody opinion to you BSJA123..... but think you should do all you can to stop it spreading...

Hope it gets sorted soon...

xx

A horse we owned had it a few years ago. The stuff we used, may be the one mentioned on here, was added to a bucket of water and she effectively had a body wash with a sponge. All her rugs, brushes, numnahs etc were washed and as she had the scabs on her face, we didnt ride her as it was where her bridle went. We also washed all her haynets, in fact everything she came into contact with. We left our coats at the yard and washed them after use. It didnt take long to go but I dont remember her being particuarly itchy. Its a pain but it is manageable. From memory Im sure she was stabled to prevent it spreading. We thought at the time that it was picked up from some cows that were in a field next to the horses for the first time. Google it on the internet and you will find loads of info and help.

We used Malaseb as a wash for the horse but were given something else to spray on the fences etc. We also ended up with antibiotics because horse rubbed and chewed and got the spots infected.

I think you mean mycophyte (sp) - unfortunately, they don't make it any more... and nothing is quite as good as it.

Ohh yeah she might need antibiotics if she's cut and bleeding, is she up to date with tetnus jabs? Antibiotics come in apple flavour now even my fussy eater didn't turn his nose up to them :p

Oooh, I'm gonna stick my oar in here too!! I had a horrid spate of ringworm for a few years as a couple of horses kept getting it on their faces and then it would come back a few months later as SOMEONE wasn't cleaning everything properly! Anyway, the absolute best treatment I found (and was agreed by vet) was Canesten from the chemist. Embarrasing to go in and ask for a HUGE tube of it but the horses cleared up in no time and stopped exhibiting symptoms straight away.

Is it a pink scrub? Hibiscrub? or like a lotion?

Its a close call which is worse, bulk buying Canesten or Benzyl benzoate for sweetitch!! Especially in a very small town where all the chemist staff know you.
