Don't mean to sound thick but was the orange wire connected to the electric?

I know! Theres no juicy grass in there!
LOL I think I'll try plaiting it to his forelock and if that fails get a heavy duty nail gun out!
I bet he'd feel that!

I would add more whit tape under the current white tape as if we can't see the orange changes are its not much of a deterrent to him.. And obv make sure its all electrified.
Escape artists eh!

The orange WAS connected, but that is no longer there this year coincidently since Buddie watched the field owner fertilise! the white tape is now doubled and even doubled back on its self in places!

you'll have to get mike to make a small post and rail paddock. get him to concrete the post in like he did on my hedge. buddie is a little git lol

If you can't get the muzzle to stay on despite the staple gun then yes I would consider tethering until you can get the fencing fixed. Better to tether than get lami in my opioin.
You will need a tethering collor. ( you shouldn't tether from a headcoller, can't remember why but suspect it's cause it rub's) a stong chain (not rope, don't want rope burns) a big stake with a swivel link on the top. You need to try and tether him where he could have some shelter but not get wound up in it. Etc. Might be best to try and find some advice from your local traveller community who tether - they love to give advice.

Staple it to his frigging head!

(Not that I condone the use of office equipment on equine!)
