Texas Storm and Barns collapsing

Is anyone else seeing all the news about barn and arena roofs collapsing in Texas due to the snow/ice storm?
They seem to think it's the flatter rooves and the sheer weight of the ice?

I've just seen something about this pop up on my FB feed - A very smart, well maintained looking set up with all their barn - stables, school, hay etc - collapsed. Luckily they'd managed to get all the horses out in time but not ideal weather for the horses to have to be out!

I'd been wondering how you even start to deal with horses in -40? Is it that it's not such a stretch from their norm and so they're set up for it - unclipped horses etc?

Yep it's smart well-maintained places that I've been seeing collapsing, how you cope in a storm with 40+ horses and no usable buildings I do not know. Most posts says friends and neighbours have helped but that's a lot of horses to sort out. From what I've seen they're definitely able to rug up, but quarter horses usually have very fine coats.
