I've just had a lovely weekend with a friend in Cheltenham, I took Marnie and my 2 pups, we had a lovely weekend of chatting and riding. I set off home at 3pm (to Essex) and have just got home!!
I was coming up the M40 when the temperature of the Pajero suddenly hit red, so I pulled on to the hard shoulder and managed to crawl to the next exit about 1/4 mile away. I then called the RAC and ESS, an RAC man was with me very quickly and he determined that my radiator had died on me. We then co-ordinated ESS and a recovery vehicle. A great lady came with a Landrover and we unloaded Marnie, hitched her land rover to the trailer and re-loaded - Marnie bless her walked straight back on the trailer. In the meantime, the RAC guy loaded the Paj on to his recovery vehicle. I travelled with Marnie and the pups in the Land Rover and the Paj went separately.
We got back to the yard where my lovely yard owner and her husband were waiting, unloaded and made sure Marnie was non the worse for wear before turning her out. The lovely lady from ESS then parked up the trailer. Finally got home and the Paj was there waiting, keys through the letter box. My lovely yard owner's husband looked at the truck and is going to get me a new radiator tomorrow. Now at home finally having some tea!
I would advise anyone who travels with a trailer and who hasn't got recovery, it is well worth the money - I have saved more than my RAC and ESS yearly subscription by far today, and they have made a very stressful situation a lot less stressful!
Sorry, got a bit long, big drink if you got this far!
