First of all a big massive cuddle and thank you thank you thank you to everyone who helped me make the decision to go and supported me through the hideous week that followed the decision. I don't know what I would have done without you all :) Cuddles all round :)
So mushy bit over. We moved today. Deano loaded like the angel he is and his pal Jim surprised us all by doing the same. As we drove off the yard I felt a weight lift from my shoulders and knew I'd done the right thing. As foreseen I did not get my deposit back.
We arrived safely but Deano managed to create drama as usual by twisting his shoe half off in transit so my first act on new yard was to beg for assistance in getting it off. Lovely new yard mates were super, hauled shoe off and were suitably admiring of Deano's good behaviour during the hauling. He has made a new friend in the form of eight year old Jessica who hand fed him his dinner while showering him with kisses and calling him 'prince Deano'. He was delighted with all the attention and even more delighted when he managed to pick my pocket for a pack of polos and scoffed them in one - wrapper and all. Pig :D
So we are here, settled and feeling confident that the move has been the right one :) gratuitous shots of 'Prince Deano' :

Where we going?

I'm so pleased the move went well and you're feeling so positive. I read your previous thread although didn't comment but I knew how you were feeling. I think the loss if the deposit isn't such a bad thing as now you'll be able to enjoy your new yard in peace. :-)

Thanks :D I feel happy tonight - and sooooooooo sleepy! Finally might get a good night's sleep! Leaving all grumpy thoughts re deposit behind me - fresh start :)

Congrats on move and glad you are happy. We moved yard today, the trailer was loaded with all his stuff so we rode in the pouring rain, and I know what you mean about being sooooo sleepy, me too as I didnt sleep well last night.

Early night for the both of us then I guess. I bet you are as excited as me to get to the new yard tomorrow morning and check in!

My first morning was today, it was blissful - turning my own horse out! Who'd have thought it. Just snuck up there for a cuddle and to slip him a wee extra haynet. I just love it. Hope your first morning is as lovely as mine (hope you do not wake at 3:25 the way I did tho! Overexcited.)x

that must be such a relief, he is a lovely boy isn't he. You know what they say, new home (outfit, day, week or any excuse) new shoes....Deano obviously knew this rule too.

delighted that the move went well. sorry for hijacking, but my friend got booted off her yard during the week, as fellow livery didnt like her and was whispering in YO's ear, over the past few months. My friend went on hols for a week, so shipped off her four horses to different people to look after them while she was away, and after unloading two in the dark last tuesday night, new padlock on gate. As you can imagine, horses didnt want to reload, in the dark, when they were beside their field. She phoned YO, to get a key, and she got "Listen here, missy, you cant come and go as you please, bla bla.... ", she explained she was on hols, and needed her horses looked after.. Anyway, she is 3 mths in credit with her livery, no notice given, whatsoever, and had paid for 5 round bales of hay. she had to ring a friend at 11 o clock at night to borrow her field overnight. She does have a written contract. Where does she stand, legally, not that she wants to go back there.

Horrid - I really feel for your friend, so stressful. At least she has a contract which I should have had. Is she a bhs member? Lots of good advice on my thread 'knew this would happen' x
