Just managing to catch up from my post last week about children and horses (29th Feb) - thank you all so much for the replies and welcomes. I'm not sure if I should reply to you all individually - what usually happens here? So in the interests of time, here is a blanket 'Thank You'! Some excellent advice there
Whilst I am fairly small adult (currently 8.5 stone) and could get away with sharing pony with the children, I think the best idea would be to get one for myself, get settled on a yard, and then see if we could get something for the children on loan maybe. I guess I was trying to take a short cut on costs by sharing something with them, but really not sure if it would work. As you pointed out, something quiet and gentle for the children will be brilliant for them, but not sure if I won't get too frustrated! And if they arn't interested, all sorts of problems begin.
So, will try and find something for me and then get something for littlies to get on loan and try.
Thank you all for the help in making my decision - now I expect there will be post from me on where to find a yard, trying out horses, tack, feed ................................
