Glad you enjoyed reading it. I certainly did - it's nice to be able to 'chat' to people while watching it rather than just sitting on my own and I love reading what people who know a lot more than me about it think of the tests

With the XC set to be such a deciding factor, the dressage places are so close they will be turned upside down by the end of the competition most likely.

Still, wouldn't bet much on the 3 poor frenchies left...

Particularly worried about how Eric's 18 yo horse is going to cope with so many efforts in that heat...

Don't know JRA and his anglo-arab...

Didier and Ismene (17th after dressage) might have a chance. He's a good pilot but the mare is not easy.

It is going to be an exciting day that's for sure!!! Can't believe its 1am til 5am and I start in my new school tomorrow setting up my clssroom at 9am - think it may be frowned upon if I go in still sleeping - first impressions and all that!!!!

A very good point. Not only for the french but a few of the teams with the older horses.

I think we are going to see a lot of intended time faults. I would rather have the time faults than lose the horse.

Lastly, I know this may be a little touchy, knowing full well the conditions that they were going to be faced with in Hong Kong, was it advisable for the teams to be bringing out horses of that age. Not just the french but all teams?

I am worried about the big horses as well.
 
Well MHB, Eric's horse is the oldest there...But I supposed that the hardship of running in that heat probably applies to all horses over 14 yo.

I agree with you: Big time faults definitely preferable over losing horses !

As for what is and what is not advisable from the french, I've given up on their decision making skills

with regards to the sleep deprivation, i only surfaced an hour ago but will nap before the 1-5am stint this evening! haha
