Hi, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has sent me kind words after my accident.
For those who dont know, A car hit me and my beloved horse 3 weeks ago while we were hacking. My back was broken, I have now had surgery on it and thankfully I can walk, although with crutches and a very uncomfortable back brace. My lovely, beloved horse was killed instantly. It has been the worst 3 weeks of my life, but with lots of love and support, I am getting through it.

Very best wishes Diane, and I think everyone will be relieved to know that you're on the road to recovery.

We were all very sorry to hear about the accident, and the awful loss of your much loved horse.

Look after yourself, and take the time it takes to heal! Don't rush it. When the time is right, you might think of having a wee ceremony to say goodbye properly to Benson. I know that helped me greatly when I lost my first horse.
 
Glad you're alive - literally, we have all been so worried. So sorry about your horse.
Your emotional and physical pain is something I can't imagine. Stay strong.

I am so sorry - i have totally missed the post about your accident.

I am really glad you are slowly on the mend. How awful for you and am so sorry you lost Benson. I can not imagine what you must have gone through in the past few weeks.

Just give yourself lots of time and take the *gentle* hugs.

Glad you are on the mend Diane, Benson sounded such a lovely horse - I hope time heals as much as they say it does.

I am glad that you are on the mend but can't for one minute imagine just what a horrible ordeal this has been for you. Am so sorry about your horse. I guess he saved your life really...........

I am so sorry to hear what happened. RIP Benson.(((((hugs))))) and {{{{{healing vibes}}}} for you. I wasn't aware of your accident either until the other day when someone posted asking for an update on whether you were ok. Such an awful thing for anyone to go through and I wish you well in your recovery.

so sorry to hear what you have been through.
we too lost a horse through tragig circumstances
so can understand a little of what you are going through.
and my heart truly goes out to you.

I know exactly how you feel believe me! The very same thing happened to me 6 years ago - a car hit me at 70mph round a blind bend when I was riding. The utter carnage and fatal devastation that happened that day will live with me forever. I was let off lighter than you with regard to injuries but I was bad enough.

I thought I was ok as time went on but I used to burst into tears for no reason and until the court case was over, I always had that fear to cope with too!

The driver got away with a pathetic £250 fine, £275 court costs and 9 points on his licence.

I know it was a while ago, but it has left me unable to travel in a car as a passenger because I'm useless now if I can't control the speed we go, I hate to fly probably for the same reason and I can't cope with wide open spaces in case the horse I have now bolts. I can however hack alone because of my wonderful horse, something I never thought I'd do.

I completely understand how you feel, PM me if you want to chat - sometimes just doing that can really help. Take care, one day at a time!
