Just wanted to say that I have good news follwing a check up from the vet this morning...thank you all who offered help and advice during some hellish weeks with my horses laminitis when he was going on hunger strike and getting very stressed with box rest etc.
He has dropped a lot of weight over the time but the vet says he is ideal weight now and to try and get him to eat more to stabilise things and keep him at this weight.
He has tested negative to hoof testers and is turning and walking fine on the straight and circles. I had him in his stable and a small pen outside for sanity and I had been moving the fence out by 1 yard each day as this was giving him a bit of green stuff, which then encouraged him off hunger strike and onto his hay again.
I can continue with this each day now and when has his next heart bars on I can start walking him out in hand on the lane for 10 mins to see how he does and build it up a bit.
I am so thrilled I cannot tell you, even though I know I need to keep his weight as it is now, be anal about checking pulses and that his saddle probably wont fit when the time comes...but so thrilled we have moved onto the next stage on the road to recovery.
Thank you all for helping me through this stressful worrying time.

I hope you will get back to normal soon. Lucy had lami about 7 years ago and had rotation in all four feet. Now with carefull management of her weight she leads a normal life hunting all winter and showing and doing endurance all summer. You are through the worst of it now. Look forward to the future. Good luck and keep us updated please.
