Just had call from the vets. He's up and back in his stable, and the operation went well.
However, there was more damage in the joint than they thought, so he will need much more boxrest. It was lucky we did the operation now as he was almost certain to go lame without it. Hopefully we will be able to keep him sound now, but I have to accept that he will always have to be carefully managed.
