Strangley i feel very brave about it -but then im sitting at work nice and safe. Dont know if i can keep it up tomorrow though.

I always feel safer with slightly shorter stirrups

Where are you in Suffolk? My horse is in North Suffolk... (Sorry being nosey)

You could put them up one, as long as that doesn't unbalalnce you and tip you forward. You'll be fine.

If mine have been a bit bouncy I have found that counting out loud sometimes helps, in a kind of trot rhythm, until you are ready to send them forward to canter, it also means you won't hold your breath and get tense

I sing to mine when he's being naughty and I'm feeling tense. It helps me breath and relax but is a bit cruel to him

Ditto, but I'm sure my horses ears bleed from my awful singing!

i sang to Dealer the other week when there was a great big digger on the track - very loudly - walking in a winter wonderland!! he went past with out batting an eyelid!! A man going in the opposite dirction looked very confused!!
I used to sing that to my old pony when there was something scary coming up - but after 5 years she knew that if io began to sing she would start looking about for the scary thing!!!
