I just wanted to say 'thankyou' to everyone who comes on here and takes the time to answer posts and give advice.......

I have a young/green horse I bought last September...I knew he had certain 'issues' when I bought him, and I knew it would take me a while to get things sorted. I'm far far further on with him than I would have thought possible last Autumn.

I would never have had the confidence to go ahead and buy him if I hadn't been a member of this forum.....I'm lucky enough to have my own little yard now, so although I still have my horsey friends I don't have those daily 'what do you think' chats with different people. The information and advice freely given on here has helped me enormously.....most of the advice I've taken has been from threads other people have posted but which have been relevent to me....

Yesterday.....I brought my horse in, groomed, tacked up and mounted at first attempt- this took 15 minutes in all. Compared to 2 hours when I got him:eek:
I schooled him....and after 15 minutes we were no longer going around like a demented giraffe.....we had a loose relaxed walk with a nice contact and plenty of stretching. This may not seem like a big deal....but really- to me this is a massive achievement and I really don't think I would have got this far without you all........

So anyway...the sun is shining.....its Pimm's O'clock.... Cheers to you all!:D

A HHO happy customer ....YAY!!! *virtual hi five*

Sometimes you just have to jump straight in and crack on don't you.

One of great the benefits of being on your on yard because if you listened to every Tom Dick and Harry on a livery yard (specially those experts that force advice down your throat when you never asked for it) you'd never get anywhere in life due to so many different views etc...even if they are only trying to be helpful or save you from attending A&E :D

Glad it's all coming together and everything is paying off, just goes to show how true that little saying is (or song, but I won't be donning a Billy Ocean or Boyzone impression) ''when the going gets tough...the tough get's going''

and the tough see things through.

ok I'm feeling all girl power-fied now and it's not good, I'll crack on with my work before I throw one of my spare superwoman outfits I have in my middle draw! lol

Well done!
Rome wasn't built in a day and if you keep going the way you are with him, just imagine how he will be going by September and all your work would have been worth it :D
Continue onwards and upwards m'dear! :)

Honestly......last night I was so pleased, it has been a bit of a struggle on occasion......I really cannot over-estimate how much help this forum has been, there's some really amazing helpful and talented people on here.:)

Here, *chucks you over a pair of red pants and a cape* (not the most flattering of red knickers might I add) feel free to flubber in them ;) should you not have been blessed with finely tunned pins that a pair of Konigs would be proud to be seen in.:D

Yep, he'll show you up and make you look like you can't ride for toffee, course he will, hey... I'm suprised you even debated on that one! lol

Good luck, have fun!

brilliant post and i totally agree.
I have my fiorst horse and whenever i have had a question or just a rant people here have been brilliant - so willing to take time to type out an often long reply and share their wisdom.
As a novice i feel very lucky when someone with a lifetime of experience that money cannot buy so readily shares it with me -

So a great big fat ty to everyone who has helped me and my boy too!:)
