you get to the yard, survey the scene and fear the worse!

Got home at 8:45 tonight expecting both horses to be in (Charlie was in for the day anyway due to injury and Mum was suppose to have brought Missi in earlier on).

The gate was open so I was able to drive straight onto the drive - Unusual but not uncommon.

Looked across at the yard and it was lit up like Blackpool illuminations - quite strange at that time of night but hey ho

Checked for Charlie, he was in his stable going mad - not great and quite unlike him

Checked for Missi, her stable was empty - great, mum mustn't have got round to bringing her in, annoying but no big deal

Looked across to the yard gate and mum was leaning on it with my step-dad stood close by.....VERY unusual for them both to be there, especially when not doing anything in particular.......combine that with the above......cr@p whats happened?!?

In those few seconds it took me to drive onto the drive, look across at the stable, survey the scene and begin to panic all sorts of things went through my mind.....she's dead.....she's fatally injured.....she's escaped....been stolen...etc!

I didn't want to get out of my car :o I'm sure my heart had stopped at this point!!

Got out, asked what was wrong expecting to hear the worst. Thankfully it wasn't anything awful, mum had tripped when bringing Missi in in the dark, Missi's headcollar had slipped off and she thought she'd make the most of her freedom but gorging on the grass (outside of the field so usually out of bounds) and refusing to be caught! Phew

I caught her no problem and she is happily tucked up in her stable. Mum is also fine.

Charlie on the other hand is acting a bit strange, I'm hoping it's just a case that he needs time to calm down again but I can't help thinking that he may be mildly colicing again so will be keeping an eye on him for the rest of the night. Any spare vibes would be appreciated :(

So now my heart is beating again I can't help thinking that my horses are working together to give me a nervous break down, either that or they are trying to bankrupt me
