..when you buy a new horse/pony and muck it out for the first time - will they be a clean 'all in one place' poo-er or will they be a 'mash it in to the bed and use it as a pillow' type

I'm pleased to report that my new pony is a paragon of cleanliness. He did however pull a load of rugs down, make a nest and kip in the middle of it.

And they say native ponies don't need rugs... I'm glad he didn't manage to injure himself on his nest

My third was a lovely surprise, poos in the same spot and pees very little. This year however he has turned into a beast and is worse than my mare.

Both my boys are clean. Even in the field they poo all in one place. Infact due to Herbie riggyness he normaly just does one big pile

My tb x has always made me the envy of the yard as he is very clean and I can muck him out in 10minutes as he would never stoop so low as to kick a pile of poo, never mind step in, or sleep in it....his stable is always immaculate however my gloating chickens have come home to roost as my new boy is anything but clean! He buries his poo, kicks it all over the shop and lies in it- no easy task mucking him out!!
