Now I know I'm going to be in the bad books as yet again I was on my own so now piccies of the round :o, I know I'm rubbish!

However I had the best morning popping round the clear round and then the baby 70cm class :D. Despite being terrified of the audience :o we managed third place in the 70cm, which I was so shocked by I'd untacked and got a burger when they called me back in for the prize giving :o. I really think it does Topaz the world of good to do other things and she adores jumping!

After surviving the clear round

Old piccy as proof we can leave the ground and occasionally can bribe people into taking pictures ;)

But now I have a dilemma to enter the ODE at the end of the month or not, and which class if we do...

Yay a showjumping report!! So excited as there isn't many on here :biggrin3:
Well done on the placing but I do think you need to work on your bribery for pics, cake works ;)
If it helps I'm terrified of trotting down the center line towards a judge so your braver than me, give me fences any day!
No help with the ODE, I would do a class that I know I will feel comfy with so I can enjoy it rather than stress :)

I'll eat my hat if that's only 70cm!

I might do my own sj report later, seeing there is a lack of them and hopefully I wont bore anyone.

It would be better if I had bribed someone but I'm at an epic fail at this currently :o, want to go out again now and do some of the bigger classes! Dressage it way easier than jumping, nothing to fall over :D;).

Brilliant Well done!

What are the options for the ODE?

Thanks :D.

Options are:

Dressage Test SJ/XC Fences Approx

Class 1 Open BE 100 Test 106 (2012) 2’9”-3’ / 85-90cm
Class 2 Novice BE 90 Test 95 (2012) 2’3”-2’6” / 75-80cm
Class 3 Starters BE 90 Test 91 (2009) 2-2’3” / 65-75cm

I'm toying between the novice and maybe even the open . The venue is where we went xc schooling the other week so we're fairly confident with the fences and would love to give it a go, but maybe I'm asking a little too much for a transformed dressage diva...

Great report and of course you should enter the ODE!

:D I just need to check I've not got anything else planned for that date!

Ah yes no that fence is not 70cm, I think it was a 90cm class but at the same venue last time we were there some three years ago !

ooo yes please do, love seeing others out and about :).

Thank god for that - was feeling dejected that I thought the fence looked big !
Just uploaded some photos to Photobucket so can now do a better report - its this what puts me off doing anything.

:o sorry maybe I should have just blagged we'd done the 90 again ;), but I was feeling so pleased with her I thought we'd leave it there, but next time we go out we'll be going later for the bigger classes!

It is such a faff using photobucket, but we all love pictures :D, looking forward to the report!

I was going to say God is she 12.2 that fence looks about 90cms :D

Well done but I'm not happy to accept the lack of photos. Buy a cheap camera and throw it at any likely looking spectator and demand they take a video!

Well done with your very versatile horse I like to keep all 4 feet on the ground these days so your braver than me:)

She's just fabby and will turn a hoof to anything we're very lucky to have her :), but jumping is her fave :D.

:D Feel I've mislead people somewhat now :o, but knew I'd be in trouble with no pics at all! Ok, manning up needed I will force myself on the unsuspecting at the next event promise :o.

Flying topaz, yay! Well done on leaving the ground and coming back with a frilly. As for the ode, if you want the cowardy custard perspective, I'd go for the height that you feel very comfortable and confident about, that way that's the least of your worries when tackling all three disciplines in one way, not that I've ever gotten that far myself haha.

:D thank you I do enjoy the jumping and can't think why we've not done more of it since turning to the dark side :D.

I think you might be right and after talking it through with mum, think I'll do the novice. Plenty of time for anothe event later in the season to try a bigger height :).

Woo-hoo go Alex and Topaz! Fab to see an SJ report from you :D

If it were me, I'd do the Novice, and ease yourself into it comfortably. You've got a whole season ahead to build up to it.

Wahey sounds like fun!

Go for the ODE, take it easy and go for fun rather than challenge, as JB says above you've plenty of time to build up ;) can't wait for the report from super versatile Topaz!

:) thank you, and yes think novice will be the sensible option!

:D love the black beast as she'll turn her hoof to most things. Yes think I've made my mind up to do the novice, thanks everyone :).

We'll forgive you for misleading us if you get decent pics of the eventing!

And give me some cake too.

:D I'm scared about what will happen if I return pcitureless again , promise I will try my level best and have Pimms, Prosecco and cake in abundance to bribe anyone to take pictures. Though I'm starting to wonder how the photo quality might deminish throughout the day as the Pimms and Prosecco go down :D, maybe just cake will be a safer idea!

Had another wobble about class, mum thought the open would be bigger and upon hearing the height said well Topaz wouldn't have an issue with that so it depends on you kicking on or not... Parents are not helpful sometimes!
