In 7 weeks I have had to have all three dogs put down, the boys went today, I am so lucky that those that did the deed are friends and that gives me the opportunity to choose when, where and how..

On a lovely sunny day in a farmers field the boys went on their way...time was taken and my little man who has always fought everything fought the clipping and emela cream but the actual going was peaceful, he was injected in a hind leg vein whilst laying against my leg and could not see the nurses so he did just slip away.

my little loner was laid across my lap and had a few words to say as he went but it was very quick...

TBH I feel some peace from the fact that they had some spark left in them as they went or I would feel I had left it too late..

Rest easy little men-keep Lil lurcher in line and keep her warm she will be pleased to see you...X

Ah it's hard isn't it. They leave such a hole behind them. Sorry that you have had to make these choices, but take comfort that you did the right thing and it was peaceful.

Thank you to you all, the boys had a good innings they were almost 16 & 18 with no health issues apart from some arthritis and age related muscle wastage-their bodies were just..well old I suppose.

The house is empty

Oh my, I am so very sorry, though it sounds like you gave them a wonderful life. It has been many years since I lost my dog but I know exactly what you mean when you say the house is empty.

So sorry to read this and that you lost them all so close, it sounds as though they had a wonderful long life with you and how wonderful of you to make their suffering as little as possible even when you knew it would be so hard for yourself.
Run free little ones x

So sorry to read this Twiggy2, I fear that I will lose my 3 youngest more or less at the same time and it must be horrid :( Thank you for being such a great owner and making the right decision for them xx

there were 9yrs between the oldest and the youngest and the youngest (the one that really stole my heart out of all my dogs ever) went first

Well done for giving them the peaceful and loving end that they deserved after all those faithful years. I hope I can be as brave when my little dog's time comes.

I'm sure your life and home will feel very strange for a while to come, hugs to you xxx

I am so very, very sorry for your loss :( Take some comfort in the fact that your dogs were clearly loved and well looked after. There are dogs that dont ever know love. Probably wont help right now, but hopefully will in the future. You were an outstanding dog owner and they knew that

I just can't imagine this. I'm so incredibly sorry and amazed at your bravery. What a lovely way to go for dogs though, out in a field.
Big hugs and best wishes xx

Im so sorry to read this, god its hard isnt it having to make that decision especially 2 at once, what a lovely way for them to go too and shows what a kind and considerate owner you are.

could not have done them one at a time they had been together since the younger one was 12 weeks old-that was the toughest part but in my heart of hearts I knew that the one left would have just pined their last few weeks away and that the right thing for them was to let them go together

You are a very lovely, brave person.Your dogs have come full circle and you have done the best by them. You will miss them of course you will, but will be comforted in the fact that they did come full circle. I wish all dogs could have had this chance to go together ,so peacefully ,after a long happy life.

You did right there, I lost an old dog and his mate never got over it. So sorry for your loss, it's heartbreaking.
