The ‘ultimate pet’?!

For such incredibly 'purposeful' and thought out breeding, it's a pretty cheap dog...!!;);) I can't imagine the trouble that this cross might cause the average 'pet' owner tbh either. Still it might be better, at least health and temperament wise than the many variations of husky/Akita, pug/chihuahua hybrids etc. Gawd, as if a spaniel or a GSD wasn't enough brain to have to entertain - putting them together????!!

Brilliant advertising! You have to admire people who presumably were caught short when a bitch was in season and using their marketing skills to maximise the result.
They can now have police dogs that both find the drugs and detain the suspect!

Brilliant, isn’t it?! Absolutely inspired. ?

I wouldn’t say cheap at that price, plus the pup is 5 months, isn’t it?

What a load of old toot. Police forces around the world would already be breeding such a mix if they were any cop. The two breeds have pretty diverse traits. As others have said, clever marketing/huge mark-up for an oops litter.

And a hybrid would be a dog x wolf or a fox x coyote.

Ha, glad you weighed in on this, CC! The hybrid thing, absolutely, yes, and the diversity of what the two breeds do makes what the seller says just astounding. Brilliant, made my night!

I agree, it’s a pretty pup, it looks a lot like one of mine.

Because they are black, and a black mongrel is not interesting. I bet they were a lot more expensive at 8 weeks.
I think if the breeders have socialised it well it would be quite easy to fit it in with a pack, mind you I doubt they are concerned about the suitability of the parents as breeding stock - other than - Ah! Balls and Ah! Uterus...let's do this!
To their credit they haven't dumped the pups on a rescue when they couldn't sell them.

Two pups still unsold, and now they are 5 months 29 days old. Hmmm. Folk aren’t queuing up to buy this cross, are they.

How difficult would it be to settle a pup of this age into its new home compared with an 8 week old pup?

From my personal experkience, it takes a bit more work and time but it is perfectly doable, providing the pup's temperament is good. With a naturally nervy one probably not so easy. My take anywhere do anything dog did not leave his breeding kennel and run until he came to me at fifteen weeks. The upside of a long time with parents and siblings seems to be a dog with very good doggy social skills. He never nipped as a pup or humped as an intact male and is still dog neutral.
