*thanks for reading* *its a bit long and whingy* *sorry in advance*

Do you ever just get the feeling that this dance is your life! *sigh*

I bought my horse 2 years ago now as my previous horse died suddenly. For the first time in my life I went out and bought a "ready made" horse (usually I would have a youngster and backed it myself) as I had just had a baby and thought something more sensible was in order in this phase of my life.
A year in and he was doing great, we hadnt done any things out and about as he wasnt a great traveler so we did short trips in the trailer to the local woods/beach etc which suited me too. He was green in the school so we were enjoying working on that and he was coming on great.
he had a year off as I had another baby.
Came back into work lovely, no drama
Then I bought another pony, previously he'd been the only horse here.
Discovered he was a rig! bloody brilliant!
shouty mare moved into a field next door the farmer rented - also brilliant!
Have been taking him out hacking with a friends gelding before the new horses moved into his life and his behaviour is always better when we are out solo. Hes a bit of a pest in company and either goes very lazy and slow if the horse with us is slower or gets too fizzy and stressed out if the horse with us is faster. But now the riggy behaviour at home has been identified that goes some way to explain why he is happier on his own.
Prior to the new horses at home he would hack from the yard, now he wont as hes too stressed leaving them.
I've not had much time to take him out to the woods in the trailer yet (we are about to move house!) so havent seen if he's still ok hacking there yet.
After a week of being a total twit, he's settled enough with the new home situation i can ride in the school even if the mare is screaming over the fence at him - thank god!

Vet coming tomorrow to blood test for him being a proper rig and not just my guessing (although he fully tried to cover my new pony when she arrived!)

And then it moves on to the house move in a months time.
Pros - no horses next door! lovely quiet road to hack on hopefully. long farm track up to the property and a quiet village.
Cons - no school, only a huge field that i know i wont be able to ride in as i'm too scared!

School will go down next year hopefully and i'm going to try ride and lead with the 2 of them so he doesnt have to leave his girl behind (i know this doesnt solve the behaviour though!)

And i'm back to work full time with 2 small kids so squishing in training and riding is a struggle.

Anyway none of this actually needs advice because it is what it is :)

Anyone else facing the same life to's and fro's ??

Keep on trucking! :D :D

I am not so sure you will find him to be a rig. Many horses, when they have been alone and now have company, will take a period of adjustment when other horses are around. Many geldings mount other horses too without there being anything amiss.

I will be interested in the result of the blood test.
