The agility thread

There's also Warrior Agility who train on Cheshire showground, but don't know if they have beginner classes. I think some clubs can be a bit funny if you have a non typical agility breed, not getting at you DressageCob, I have one as does bc.

Thanks all 😊

I'm not at all offended about the reference to my dog being a non-typical agility dog. I think that's been a bit of a barrier so far at the places I've made enquiries at.

DSD for Fen's first KC agility today.

Tried for a start line wait since he's been so good at training....total fail but he didn't cross the sensor so once the zoomies were had we could start properly 🙈

2 Es and 13.18 faults for 2nd on our last run. He has decided hes a better course designer than the judge and weaves need to include nipping me 🙄 absolutely great starting off point though and if nothing else he entertained and had the best day 🤣

First of local independent clubs winter season yesterday . Zig forget what contacts were on first run but did a nice 2nd run to go clear and end up 3rd . The jumping course was something else, even the winner said it wasn’t nice . Zig was eliminated but actually managed some of the harder bits . I’m not going to be dashing to enter under that judge again . But it’s always a lovely friendly show , with great cake so that’s the important bit,

Lovely indoor training today, my boy is so much an indoor rather than an outdoor dog. Today he produced three sets of 12 weaves, bam, here you go mum, hold my beer and give me the cheese. Out of the blue, and even bouncing from side to side like a proper agility dog.

It will probably never happen again!

Today was a good day! It's was definitely a vest and a Dryrobe sort of day...very cold 🥶 But the girls were fab. Daz a placed 2nd clear and NO TIME PENS in combined 1/3 agility. 🥳 A jumping clear no time pens 🥳 and then an unlucky E but a fab run. So so pleased with her. Pebs a great clear within time in the 4/5 agility plus a take your own line 🙈 in the jumping. A great day, and much needed boost 😍

Had a mixed bag at DSD yesterday. First run batshit (broken stay, unsurprising as she'd got herself in an absolute state), second run batshit (broken stay again and then her brain fell out at some obstacle discrimination). Third run had moments of brilliance and actually felt pretty good.

Quiet as a mouse in the car park and exercise area, worked in nicely, then became an air-snapping screaming banshee on entering the building. 🙄

So exciting being back indoors- we went to an Indy steeplechase novice show this afternoon and won the large G1-2! Four runs over two courses, all done in 35 minutes - our fourth run was finally a clear, and we were fastest!

We are back to the same venue tomorrow for Pawsability, KC. Let’s see how that goes!

On another note I guess you've seen the KC response to the matrix queries. Basically selective reply to some, not all questions asked, and the matter is closed. They are absolute arseholes...sorry. 🤬 What with that and no Micro until the G7s agree to give up their grade (which they won't) I am pretty much shafted. We will still try for now but progression will be nigh on impossible I think.😭

Yep so much for being inclusive to all . Zig has only done one KC show under new matrix and did make the time with a bit to spare but I’m not going to be flogging him over too many 30 cm jumps . A shame because I think he could go up at least a couple more grades .
