This really is causing a total kerfuffle on various Forums is it not? Look at the "New Rider" Forum. Most people have totally understood the concept of this Section, some not - and some never will. May I please explain that this Section is for what one would term "equines with honourable scars" - caused through accident, injury or operations. Conformation and Movement will be judged as per a "normal" class and Faults will not be overlooked. The only criteria is that entries MUST be 100 per cent SOUND.

Everything always causes a kerfuffle somewhere

eta - I thought the schedule explained it pretty damn well .. I really can't see how you'd get confused

I thought it was fairly obvious myself.

*Wanders of to look at NR and see how people could possibly be confuddled by it*

thanks ishy

I assumed it was for otherwise VERY nice horses that can no longer compete top flight due to blemishes ie scars due to injury that doesn't affect there way of going.

blemishes I don't think are normally marked down a lot if at all at local level so 'local standard' horses are already catered for.

I think that all the bumph about the "All But Perfect" Section is on Page 14 of the Schedule pages.
I do so hope that ALL you people out there who think that this is a good idea - will enter please. Look at the Cricklands website for a seriously good deal on stabling, entry fees etc: for that weekend. Any queries re: same, contact Vanessa at Cricklands.

I read it as I would be able to compete my TB as a riding horse - conformationally he is good, he is sound, he is mannerly but...... He damaged a tendon racing and was overbandaged on both forelegs causing degloving on one which has never grown back hair and the other leg has white hair. I could also show my 2 year old he again is conformationally good - would make a show hunter - except he was born with one eye and one empty socket. it does not affect him, he is sound, fit and bar the eye, perfect. But to be honest neither would ever be entered in or win in any other show ring as they are blemished through no fault of their own. I have shown ridden hunters at county level and I like it as an aducation without too much pressure for a young horse, starting in hand and then under saddle. It gives them chance to experience shows, crowds and noise without expecting too much of them. Good on Cricklands for coming up with this idea.

we were just thanking ishy for giving us the link to the new rider thread so we could have a nosey!

Unfortunately Frank is perfect (!) and isn't good enough anyway and the mare isn't perfect (has scars) but has rubbish conformation to boot but is very good at looking pretty and blonde.
