hey guys and gals
has anyone on here bought a horse from the babes family! they have mixed testimonial on there page was just woderirn what you think ?
any input greatly recieved

Personally only ever had good experiences with them. Some absolutely lovely horses that really do have some talent.

Last one I rode from them wasn't suitable for the purpose it was bought for (just a bit green for the owner, nothing else) and so was sent back without any hassle.

However I haven't had alot of dealings, any that I have had the horses have been good genuine Irish horses with a wise head on young shoulders.
 
My fillies Dam came from them, in foal.
My ex boss bought a fair few from there, good prices and seemed pretty honest about what they were selling.

I bought a horse from them last spring. I had to return her as she wasnt the age, height, or colour as specified in her passport. And she wasn't bombproof as I had specifically asked for (and was assured she was). However, they did take her back and give me my money back. Having said that my friend bought a pony from them and he is turning into a superstar.
 
I got my mare from George around 6 years ago and she's been fine - as someone else said they sell a lot of nice irish horses - mine turned out to be only 4 (he had said she was 5) but she had all the basics in place and was very mature for her age. We've had a few ups and downs since but nothing to do with where she came from, more to do with me being too soft with her! The good thing with a dealer is you can exchange it if it is not the right horse for you. Also I would advise you take an experienced friend or your RI with you when you go to try the horse.
 
I know of one who came from them and is on my yard. Bought as being a 14.2 connemara 5yo but when he arrived there was no way he was 5. New owner wouldn't believe any different but when his teeth were done 6 months later he was aged at no more than 2 1/2 yrs which was pretty much what I had suspected. He has grown to 15.2 now! On the plus side otherwise he is the most bombproof, nice natured animal you'd ever wish to meet.
