The barefoot debate...sitting on the fence!

ooooooo How refreshing a choice of chocolate, medication for my flu and sensible people who are not fanatical. yipeeeee.

I am a halfshodder. I have had a couple of complete barefoot episodes one reasonably successful but as soon as my horse started slowing down i put front shoes back on. If his hooves need a rest again i'll take them off for a while again but will watch the research and wait for hoof boot and shoe improvements and in the meantime manage with what the horse tells me suits him and our current work load, lifestyle and budget..

I too get a little peeved to be honest at why people have to be so one or the other.. and can't have a hoof in both camps so to speak...:D so it is nice to hear there are lots more of us out there...:)

Hmmm Pandora! Popping candy after eights!! You should patent that sounds delish!!! Nom nom nom!

It has been refreshing to hear from lots of open minded people, but to be fair those who seem most learned about the subject of shoeing never sound as fanatical as those who are desperate to follow a trend. More often than not it is the foot experts on here that say what works for one may not work on another, and tell us to listen to our ponies. Wise advice I think, and whilst I'm still very much a novice, I read the shoeing threads with interest and hope I learn a lot.

Tonight I learnt a very valuable lesson.

Lemsips and wine don't taste very nice together ; (
