The best area to own a horse?

North east Lincolnshire are the wolds horncastle north to the sea There is the Lindsey trail which according to different publications is 69-80 miles long

Cotswolds, although it's the only place I have ever owned a horse!

We can ride up to Cleeve Common from my yard and I love it up there! Lots of galloping space :)

Cor blimey - we could have passed each other if you were about 15 years ago! I hacked from Stanway twice!

Somerset - Quantock hills especially. Amazing hacking; close enough to beaches at Brean and South Coast; good competition venues. Downside - land is very expensive.

Do you know, I went round Brean with my brothers and father in 1964 and we were offered a bungalow half buried in the sand for £600 - and I can remember the way we all stroked our chins and said cor blimey - could be a bit of a pig in a poke! What's it worth now eh? About £750K I shouldn't wonder!

South West Wales for me, choice of 2 mountains (one is a 2min hack on a very quiet lane, other about 40mins to get there) I could literally keep going for weeks! Beaches are about 30 - 40mins in a trailer - stunning beaches with horsey areas :). Lots of local comps but v.few larger/affiliated ones down here
